Minor for Chemical Technicians

Completion of this minor would allow students to satisfy the course requirements for application for certification as a "Certified Chemical Technician" by the American Institute of Chemists.

Requirements: A total of 24 hours distributed as follows:

One Year of General Chemistry to include the following courses:
CHEM 1410/1430 - General Chemistry I and the Lab
or CHEM 1412/1430 - General Chemistry I for the University Honors Program
or CHEM 1413/1430 - Honors General Chemistry I and the lab

CHEM 1420/1440 - General Chemistry II and the Lab
or CHEM 1422/1440 - General Chemistry II for the University Honors Program
or CHEM 1423/1440 - Honors General Chemistry II and the lab

One Year of Organic Chemistry to include the following courses:
CHEM 2370/3210 - Organic Chemistry I and the Lab
CHEM 2380/3220 - Organic Chemistry II and the Lab
or CHEM 3600 - Organic Chemistry (4 hours)

PLUS
CHEM 3450 - Quantitative Analysis (4 hours)
or CHEM 3610 - Quantitative Techniques (4 hours)

and
CHEM 4630 - Instrumental Analysis (4 hours)
