Professor of Chemistry


My research interests include: Interfacial electrochemistry; Plasma assist functional thin-film materials; electroanalytical chemistry; kinetics and thermodynamics of the electron transfer processes; semiconductor photoelectrochemistry; novel materials for alternative energy production and fuel cells.






ANALYTICAL AND MATERIALS CHEMISTRY



I teach the following courses:
  • Quantitative Analysis (CHEM 3451) and the corresponding lab (CHEM 3452). This course is offered in the Fall semester only.

Dr. Chyan received his M.Sc. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984 and his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1990. He was a postdoctral fellow at hte University of Cincinnati form 1990-1992.
Dr. Chyan joined the UNT faculty in 1992.
