Largest Graduate Student class in the Department of Chemistry

The largest graduate studnet class in the history of the Department of Chemistry began this Fall. Graduate student enrollment at UNT was up 11%. Enrollment at UNT is now at 36,207.

 

Chemistry / Material Science awarded Air Force Office of Scientific Research Grant

Dr Guido Verbeck (PI) from Chemistry and Dr. Thomas Scharf (co-PI) from Material Science received an Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) – Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) grant titled, “Acquisition of an Inductively-Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer with Laser Ablation Source for Surface Characterization,” for $244,516.

Borden selected Fellow of the American Chemical Society

Wes Borden has been selected as a Fellow of the American Chemical Society. He will be honored at the ACS National Meeting in Washington D.C. on August 17 as part of the Society's inaugural class of Fellows.
